We are all about making people healthier and safer! We teach classes in traditional Japanese Karate, Krav Maga and CrossFit.

Krav Maga is a pure self-defense system, lacking in the formality of traditional karate. Krav Maga was developed my Imi Lichtenfeld for the Israeli Defense Forces at the time of Israel’s formation. Krav Maga is literally battle tested, and contemplates attacks by armed attackers and multiple attackers, which most traditional martial arts do not.

CrossFit is the greatest fitness program ever developed. It trains you for the unknown and the unknowable. It is used by Police, Fire and Military units around the world, as well as by ordinary and elite athletes to increase, broad, general, overall fitness. You can start CrossFit at any fitness level, and see almost immediate results.

The karate style we teach is Kyokushin Kai. The head instructor of Oregon Self-Defense & Fitness, Mark Rosenfeld, has trained in Japan with Kyokushin founder and legend Mas Oyama. Therefore Rosenfeld has a deep cultural understanding of traditional karate and Budo, the samurai spirit. Karate begins and ends with courtesy and respect. In world of declining civility, traditional karate teaches values to kids that they are hard pressed to find elsewhere.
